Dear Friends,
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Amelia County Beagle Club member, Roland Coleman.
Roland was also a member of Central VA Beagle Club and remained on the Board of Directors for many years at Amelia County until his passing. For many years, Roland was an avid AKC field trial judge, field trial secretary and successful field trailer who finished several FC’s including FCGD C&C’s Beast. He has ran against (and judged) such greats as Buck’s Branch Kawliga, Wright’s Shake and many of the Flat Creek FCs.
He was one of the founders of Amelia County Beagle Club and put many miles, dollars and hours into the club and its grounds.
Roland was not only influential in the field trial world but also to the people around him. His advice, teaching and willingness to help others was his hallmark and was appreciated by so many. Just this year Roland attended the AKC judging seminar and the UBGF conformation seminar in show of his support even when the aches and pains bothered him.
He has given so much to this sport, his club and his friends and neighbors in so many ways. Thank you for all you have given us, Roland. You will be sorely missed.
